Planned Giving
Build a Brighter Future for Homeless Animals
Remember PARL in Your Estate Plans
Leave a legacy of your compassion by establishing a planned gift to the Providence Animal Rescue League. Your planned gift will help homeless, neglected, and sick animals as well as sustain valuable resources at the Providence Animal Rescue League (PARL).
You don’t need to be wealthy to make a planned gift to PARL and it is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of the animals. There can be many tax advantages depending on the type of gift you establish and there are many ways to give that offer benefit during your lifetime. Naming the Providence Animal Rescue League in your will, living trust, life insurance policy, pension plan or charitable trust is one of the easiest ways to make a lasting contribution to so many animals in need.
There are several ways to make a bequest to PARL:
- A fixed amount of money or specific property (stocks, real estate, etc.).
- A percentage of your estate.
- A contingent bequest, naming PARL as the recipient should another beneficiary not survive you.
- A residual bequest, leaving a portion or the entire remainder of your estate to PARL after all else has been settled.
- A life income bequest, paying income to a person of your choice for his or her lifetime after your death, with the principal donated to the PARL at the death of your beneficiaries.
The specific bequest is the simplest means of making a gift at your death.
I give the Providence Animal Rescue League, 34 Elbow Street, Providence, RI 02903 ________ dollars ($_______).
Or
I give the Providence Animal Rescue League, 34 Elbow Street, Providence, RI 02903 ______ (number of shares of) _______ (name of stock) of my estate (or trust).
Residuary Bequest
A residuary bequest is a gift of the rest of your estate remaining after all debts, taxes, expenses, and other bequests have been paid.
I give the Providence Animal Rescue League, 34 Elbow Street, Providence, RI 02903_____percent (___%) of my estate (or trust).
Or
I give the rest, residue and remainder of my estate (or trust) to the Providence Animal Rescue League, 34 Elbow Street, Providence, RI 02903.
Contingent Bequests
The contingent bequest provides for family and friends and will benefit the Providence Animal Rescue League only if the named beneficiaries predecease you.
I give to my wife all of the property in my estate (or trust), if she survives me. In the event my wife does not survive me, I give the sum of $__________ to the Providence Animal Rescue League, 34 Elbow Street, Providence, RI 02903.
Designating a Bequest
Although an unrestricted bequest is of special value, allowing the Providence Animal Rescue to use it however needed, some donors to the Providence Animal Rescue League have special interests that they may wish to support. You may designate the use of your bequest for such purposes.
If you are interested in designating your gift to a specific program or purpose please contact the Director of Development at the Providence Animal Rescue League to receive more information about the specific programs that can be supported.
