Foster

Love animals, but not up for adding to the pack? Do long-term commitments concern you? We have just the program for you!

We are looking for dedicated animal lovers to provide temporary care for some of our neediest animals. By providing a space in your home for kittens to grow, or cats and dogs receiving basic daily medical care, you will be rewarded by knowing you directly helped an animal in need!

Although each animal is an individual that requires specialized attention, the following are our primary needs for Foster Care:

  • Kittens under 8-weeks of age
  • Pregnant or Nursing Cats
  • Medical Treatment Dogs or Cats

PARL appreciates the commitment of our foster homes to providing the best care to their foster animals. To support this, we provide any necessary supplies and medical care along the way!

Does Foster Care sound like the program for you? Ready to get started and help kittens and cats today?

Your first step is to review the Foster Care Handbook, Foster Care Contract, and Foster Care Waiver to ensure that this program is right for you and your home. If you still have questions, feel free to contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Leah at: lbello@parl.org.

If you’re ready to dive in and get started, then print out and complete the following and mail or drop off to: PARL 34 Elbow Street Providence, RI 02903 Attention: Leah Bello, Volunteer Coordinator).

  • Foster Care Application
  • Foster Care Contract
  • Foster Care Waiver

Once we have received your completed application packet, we will contact you to set up an Orientation and your first foster!

Can't foster but still want to help?

Lots of us would love nothing better than a lapful of foster kittens but it just may not be possible for many reasons. You can still be part of our team by donating some supplies to keep our program going! Donations can be dropped off at 34 Elbow Street in Providence or ordered online and delivered to us through our Foster Care Wish List!
